Kheradpir was born in London, England, on December 19, 1960, and was raised and educated in Iran and Switzerland. He enrolled at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where he is accredited with earning a BS, an MS, and a PhD in electrical engineering. He is a well known business and technology executive in Telecommunications.
